PRE-ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. CBC, serum chemistry and urinalysis should be done on the patient within 7 days prior to admission for therapy     and faxed immediately to us. Values must include a T3 and T4.

2. Any anti-thyroid medication (methimazole, PTU) must have been discontinued for at least 7 days prior to therapy.

3. Acceptable radiographs of thorax should accompany patient and have been taken within 14 days prior to     admission.


UPON ADMISSION

1. Our medical staff reserves the right to deny therapy if a malignancy is detected or other medical conditions that     might contraindicate radioiodine therapy.

2. Cats will be maintained in a state approved radioactive isolation facility until the exposure rate is equal to or less     than 0.5 mR/hr at 3 feet from the cat. This may be approximately 3 to 4 days.

3. Visitation of cats will not be allowed while in isolation.
